The Illinois Township Code (60 ILCS 1/) and the Milton Township Ordinance (2011-8) require residential property owners in unincorporated Milton Township to ensure that the grass and weeds on their property do not exceed a height of eight (8) inches. If vegetation exceeds this height, it is considered a nuisance and is deemed unlawful. The ordinance also prohibits placing specific nuisances, such as dead or overgrown bushes, in township right-of-ways.
