Highway Commissioner Mike DrewMike Drew was elected as Milton Township’s Highway Commissioner in April 2024. In this role, he ensures the maintenance and safety of the accepted roads and road rights-of-way in the unincorporated areas of Milton Township. Professional Background. With a strong background in construction, Commissioner Drew is uniquely positioned to lead the Highway Department. He has dedicated his career to the labor and construction industry as an operating engineer, spending most of his years in the field on tower cranes. Following this extensive experience, he transitioned to a role of Business Agent with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150, where he actively engaged with union members in Cook and DuPage Counties. His responsibilities included advocating for workers' rights, promoting fair wages, ensuring safe working conditions, and fostering equitable treatment.
Through his unwavering dedication and expertise, Mike has garnered the trust and respect of his colleagues, often taking on the role of mentor to younger engineers. His leadership has propelled his own career forward, while also benefiting the lives of numerous union members.

Lifetime Resident. Mike Drew has longstanding family ties to the community. He was born and raised in Glen Ellyn, part of Milton Township. He raised his own family in Wheaton for the last twenty years with his wife, Jennifer. Mike is an active participant in local events and initiatives, valuing the close-knit atmosphere that the community offers. His deep roots and commitment to the area have made him a well-respected figure, known for his friendliness and willingness to lend a helping hand.
Community Involvement. Mike Drew serves on the board of the Emerald Club and actively participates in various charitable initiatives. His volunteerism has not only generated significant funds but has also fostered a sense of unity within the community.
