Food Pantry History
Milton Township, through its General Assistance Department, operates an on-site Food Pantry for individuals and families in need here in Milton Township. Begun by office staff bringing in food from home to help those who visited our General Assistance office, the Pantry was incorporated in 2002 as an Illinois not-for-profit and granted 501(c)(3) status by the IRS. It is entirely supported by donations from the community – no tax dollars are used and all donations are fully tax-deductible. Christmas Sharing Baskets are available to qualified families through the generosity of community organizations and can be requested after October 1st.
We work hard to ensure that no one in true need goes hungry here in the Township. For further information, please call our Township office at (630) 668-1616.
